A lot of the new people who join medical transcrip tion are under the impressio n that one can finish a Medical Transcrip tion course and start earning Rs.30000/- from the very next month.  However, the actual percentag e of Medical Transcrip tionists (people who type [or edit VRS document], i.e. not proofers or QAs) who earn above Rs. 15000/- itself seem to be less.

Salaries of just joined medical transcrip tionists range between Rs.4000-Rs.10000/- in most places and those earning on the higher side are only the small percentag e of higher skilled people or those working on good audio accounts or in major metros where cost of living is high.

All MT companies do not provide even basic minimum salary.  Many of the companies only provide salaries based on the number of lines done.  Some companies pay per line rate of 50 ps or even less than that.

Well how much are MTs really earning ?
